Microblading – How Long Does It Last Guide

Here at My Absolute Beauty, we live and breathe for creating gorgeous brows by providing the best microblading classes and products to beauty professionals across the US. We often get the question ‘microblading how long does it last’, so we’ve put together this simple guide to help.

How Long Does Eyebrow Microblading Last?

When considering the differences between microblading vs tattoo eyebrows, it’s helpful to understand that microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique. It still involves using a hand-held blade to scratch microblading pigments into the skin but produces fuller looking brows for only 12 to 18 months. This is because the natural-looking hair strokes are drawn in the superficial, upper layers of the skin, meaning the brows will eventually fade. Clients can come in for a top-up treatment to restore the fuller look.

How Long Does Microblading Take to Perform?

When undertaking microblading eyebrows training, the best trainers will support you to achieve businesses success, so allocating the right amount of time to your clients when performing treatments is essential. The microblading process lasts around 2 hours, depending on client needs, and they may need a follow-up appointment after 4 to 6 weeks once healing is complete. Tailoring your services can help achieve outstanding results, drawing each crisp hair stroke to complement the client’s look and tastes. It’s important to design unique eyebrows for every client to frame their face while choosing the right pigment for their skin tone.

Microblading Aftercare

Luckily, there are things clients can do (or not do) to prolong results. It’s important to take the microblading healing process day by day and abide by the following rules.

  • Follow aftercare advice for at least the first 14 days after the procedure. However, the full process can take 4 to 6 weeks. So you should not resume the normal routines until the area is completely healed.
  • Do not touch, rub or scratch the brows while they’re healing, even if scabbing occurs.
  • Avoid makeup, daily skincare products (such as moisturizer), and wetting the eyebrow area. If you accidentally wet the brows, pat them with a towel, do not rub them.
  • Excess sun exposure can cause pigment to fade and disrupt the healing process.
  • Stay away from saunas, sun beds, and steam rooms.
  • For those with dry skin, use a microblading aftercare ointment up to three times a day. Use a q-tip and soapy water to remove previous layers of healing balm.

If undergoing training with My Absolute Beauty, we provide aftercare leaflets in your starter kit which are great to help your clients remember the advice given. It’s essential that you educate them about what they can do to achieve the best results. Encourage them to use your services when they need a top-up. Let them know you offer excellence in both client experience and high standard results.
