Korean Lash Lift with InLei®: How to Use S-Powder with Lash Filler 25.9

The Korean Lash Lift has quickly become one of the most talked-about techniques in the professional lash industry.

But if you're already an InLei® artist, there's good news:

You don't need an entirely new lash lift system to perform the Korean technique.

The InLei® Lash Filler 25.9 system can be adapted to this style of lash lifting, and the introduction of InLei® S-Powder gives artists even more control over the consistency and positioning of their lamination solutions.

Instead of simply giving you another protocol to memorize, we're going to explain what actually changes, why S-Powder matters, and what you need to watch throughout the service.

What Is Different About a Korean Lash Lift?

A Korean Lash Lift isn't defined by one particular bottle or ingredient.

The biggest difference is how the natural lashes are softened and positioned during the early stages of the treatment.

In a traditional lash lift, lashes are generally positioned onto the shield before the restructuring solution is applied.

With the Korean technique, the lashes can first be worked in a more natural position on a silicone surface before being transferred and arranged onto the final shield once they have become sufficiently flexible.

That difference can make positioning easier—especially when working with stubborn, downward-growing or strongly curved natural lashes.

But it also makes something else incredibly important:

You need to read the lashes, not simply watch the timer.

Meet S-Powder: The Product That Changes the Texture

InLei® S-Powder is a professional thickening and gelling powder developed for lash and brow lamination solutions.

When mixed into a lamination solution, it transforms its texture, making the mixture:

• thicker
• easier to place
• more malleable
• more adhesive
• easier to control

This becomes particularly useful during Korean-style lamination because the artist needs the product—and later the lashes themselves—to stay exactly where they are positioned.

S-Powder is compatible with InLei® Lash Filler 25.9 and can be used with both reducing and oxidizing phases according to the prescribed ratios.

PHASE 1: Prepare and Soften the Natural Lashes

Start with thoroughly cleansed lashes.

Use InLei® Saline Pre-Treatment to remove residue and prepare the natural lashes.

Secure the lower lashes using a silicone pad such as InLei® Black Pad.

This detail matters: during this technique, the professional solutions must remain away from the client's skin.

Maintain approximately 1 mm of distance from the eyelid/skin throughout product application.

Applying InLei® Lash Form 1

There are two ways an artist can approach this stage.

Method 1 — Without S-Powder

Apply InLei® Lash Form 1 while gently positioning the natural lashes across the silicone pad.

Make sure the product is distributed evenly while maintaining your safe distance from the skin.

For stronger, curlier or more resistant lashes, S-Powder can be introduced to give the mixture more body and control.

Method 2 — With S-Powder

Mix:

10–20% InLei® S-Powder
80–90% InLei® Lash Form 1

The resulting texture allows you to manipulate the lashes more easily while they are being softened.

PRO CHECKPOINT #1: Don't Forget the Lash Tips

This is one of the most important differences to understand.

During the Korean technique, the first solution may initially cover more of the lash length than it would during a classic Lash Filler treatment.

But the lash tips are thinner and generally more vulnerable to overprocessing.

The InLei® protocol therefore calls for the product to be removed from the tips early in the processing stage—within a maximum of approximately five minutes depending on the lash structure.

A small brush can be used first, followed by an applicator lightly moistened with InLei® Saline Pre-Treatment.

Why?

Because the tips usually don't need the same exposure as the stronger middle and root portions of the lash.

Think of it as controlled processing rather than simply processing everything for the same amount of time.

PRO CHECKPOINT #2: Is the Lash Actually Ready?

Here's where experienced lash artists will notice one of the biggest mindset changes.

Instead of relying exclusively on:

“I always process this product for X minutes.”

you're evaluating:

“What is this particular lash telling me?”

Use a microbrush to gently test the natural lash.

You're looking for hair that has become:

• flexible
• easy to manipulate
• responsive

…but not completely structureless.

Once the lashes have reached the correct state, remove the remaining first solution.

The official Korean Lamination guidance describes this more like working with a stopwatch and regularly checking the hair rather than blindly waiting for a fixed timer to expire.

That distinction is extremely important.

PHASE 2: Shape and Fix the New Lash Position

Now we get to one of the most interesting uses for S-Powder.

Prepare:

30% InLei® S-Powder

70% InLei® Lash Fix 2

Mix thoroughly.

You want a smooth, workable consistency without dry powder or visible lumps.

Now position your chosen lash shield approximately 1 mm away from the lash roots.

Using the prepared mixture, begin arranging the softened lashes directly onto the shield.

At this point they should be considerably easier to manipulate than at the beginning of the service.

S-Powder Provides Grip. Fix 2 Provides the Fixation.

This is one of the details we really want artists to understand.

The thicker mixture helps the lashes stay where you put them—but S-Powder itself isn't replacing Lash Fix 2.

If there isn't enough Fix 2 present, the lashes may appear perfectly attached to the shield because of the gelling effect while the chemical fixation required to establish the new shape isn't occurring properly.

So don't confuse:

Holding the lash in place

with

Fixing the new curl.

They are not the same thing.

Once the lashes are positioned, the InLei® Lash Stopper can be placed according to the protocol.

PHASE 3: Return to the Lash Filler 25.9 Protocol

Once the Korean-specific positioning stages are complete, the treatment returns to the familiar InLei® Lash Filler 25.9 workflow.

Tint

Mix your selected InLei® tint with InLei® Developer Cream 1.5% 5 vol. at a 1:1 ratio.

Processing can range from approximately 6–12 minutes depending on the hair structure.

InLei® Lash Filler 3

Apply Lash Filler 3 and allow it to absorb thoroughly into the lashes.

Cleanse

Perform the final cleanse using InLei® Mousse Magica to carefully remove remaining treatment residue and release the lashes from the shield.

Finish with InLei® Lash Molecular 4

Apply InLei® Lash Molecular 4 through the lashes until absorbed.

No rinsing is required after this final step.

4 Mistakes to Avoid with Korean Lash Lamination

This is where I would make the MAB article much more valuable than simply copying the Italian protocol.

1. Treating every lash the same

Fine, porous lashes and thick, resistant lashes don't behave identically.

Your product amount, monitoring and processing decisions need to reflect the hair in front of you.

2. Ignoring the tips

Keeping restructuring solution on delicate tips for too long can lead to unnecessary stress.

The Korean technique requires especially careful tip management.

3. Thinking thicker means stronger

S-Powder changes consistency and workability.

Adding more powder doesn't mean you're making the chemical action more powerful.

Always respect the recommended ratios.

4. Using plastic film to speed things up

InLei® does not recommend plastic film during its Korean Lash Lamination protocol.

Occlusion can accelerate the reaction and make processing less predictable. Film can also push product toward the lash roots and skin—exactly where you don't want it.

Korean Lash Lift vs. Classic Lash Lift: Which Is Better?

Neither technique automatically replaces the other.

Think of the Korean Lash Lift as another technique in your professional toolbox.

For some lashes, the additional control during softening and positioning can be extremely useful.

For others, an experienced artist may still prefer a classic Lash Filler technique.

The goal isn't to chase a trend.

The goal is to understand enough techniques to choose the right one for the lashes sitting in front of you.

And that's exactly where professional education makes the difference.
